Marguerite Wilkinson (1883-1928) was a Canadian-born American poet, reviewer for the New York Times Book Review, and a lecturer on modern poetry. She was born in Nova Scotia and moved to Evanston, Illinois, when she was still a schoolgirl. She attended Northwestern University and in 1909 married James G. Wilkinson. Prior to the release of In Vivid Gardens, her poetry had appeared in various publications, including The New York Herald, The Craftsman, Munsey Magazine, The Independent (New York), and The Woman's Journal.
