Biographical study of Mariano Tellez-Giron y Beaufort, the extravagant Twelfth Duke of Osuna (1814-1882). Soldier, diplomat, member of parliament, and the Spanish ambassador to the Russian Empire between 1856 and 1868. He was known for both his flamboyance and generosity, and noted as a leader of fashion, a winning sportsman, and as a patron of the arts, horse-racing and bull-fights.
