The political memoir, with some autobiographical material, of Milan Panic (b. 1929), who served as the first Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1992 to 1993, a country which existed between 1992 and 2006 and consisted of Serbia and Montenegro. In 1992, he ran for the office of President of Serbia, campaigning on economic reforms and bringing a peaceful resolution to the Bosnian War, but came in second behind Slobodan Milosevic.
