Bookplate of Beatrice Mary Chamberlain. [Presumed to be the British educationalist, political organizer, and half-sister of Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, who was born in 1862. She was educated, in part, at a private girls school in Fontainebleau. Fluent in French, she also helped organize the French Wounded Emergency Fund at the start of World War I. This volume was bound by E. Worrall, a notable bookbinder of Birmingham, the city for which Beatrice's father served as mayor.]
