The basis for The King & I. Margaret Landon's fictionalized semi-biographical novel based on the life of Anna Leonowens, a British governess and tutor to the children of the King of Siam in the 1860s. Inscribed ''Autographed especially / for / Owen P. Frisbee / With sincere good wishes / Margaret Landon''. Presumed to be Owen Phelps Frisbie (1897-1963), who in 1935 co-founded the Five Orange Pips of Westchester County, one of the first Scion Societies of the Baker Street Irregulars.
