Asaph Bemis Child (1813-1879) was a Boston dentist and Spiritualist. Better Views of Living he expounds on the universality of religious belief, positing the equal validity of all religious thought and practice, including Christianity as it has evolved. He discuses the activities and refinement of the soul throughout life, maternal pre-natal influences, the devil as an aspect of the natural world, spiritualism, fear of death, various virtues and vices, and man's appropriate roles in society.
