Antonio ''Tony'' Giarraputo (1923-1989) was born in Boston, served in WWII, graduated from Harvard in 1950, and studied in Florence, Italy, as a Fulbright fellow. He was a known poet in Boston, and taught in its schools for more than two decades, including at the Boston Latin School, English High School (his alma mater), and the Lincoln School.
