An action-filled novel about two young gold miners, both in love with the same women. Set in the early 1900's Alaska, with a backdrop of hard-bitten miners, gold strikes, a boom town, disasters, and a bank failure, the novel dramatizes both the internal and external conflicts of these three main characters.
The author, Malcolm MacDonald (1881-1968), was himself a gold miner in Alaska between 1908 and about 1917. He was born in Nova Scotia, became a citizen of the United States in 1932, and made his home in Longview, Washington.
