Kirken i Urskoven [The Church in the Primeval Forest] is a novel, based on the author's experiences in Uganda, depicting his travel impressions and studies of the conditions there. In addition to being an exciting story, it contains excellent descriptions of nature and gives a great deal of interesting information about the country and the traditions and customs of the people. But what gives the book value most of all is that the novel takes the form of a tribute to the Mission. The main character in it is an English priest who is portrayed as a highly sympathetic figure.
