A detailed genealogy that also provides quite a bit of textual material that describes the lives and personalities of the persons in these families, when possible. These four families (Steward/Stewart, Dresser, Taft, and Cone) are traced from their earliest confirmed progenitors, being immigrants to America (Massachusetts & Connecticut) in the 1600s, and whose descendants, up through the mid-twentieth century, are identified and often described.

[I]. The Stewart/Steward family is traced back to Lieutenant William Steward (c. 1692-1754) of Stonington, Connecticut. The family history includes thirteen pages describing the life and family of his great-grandson, Roderick Random Stewart (1787-1860), who married Clarissa Dresser (1789-1867). About one-third of the descendants of Roderick Random Stewart (about 100 in number) are also descendants of Elisha and Eliza Ann Cone.
[II]. The Cone family is here traced back to Daniel Cone (c. 1626-1706) of Haddam, Connecticut.
[III]. The Dresser family is traced to John Dresser (1640-1724), born in Yorkshire, England, who came to America in 1638 and settled in Rowley, Massachusetts.
[IV]. The Taft family is traced back to Robert Taft (1640-1725), who was born in Ireland and died in Mendon, Massachusetts.

The additional notes tipped-in at the rear are based on material gathered from the HFMP Collection (the Helen Frances Manville Pierce Collection/Pierce Family records).
