Architectural sketches of a variety of monolithic concrete dome structures, showing exteriors and interior floor plans or sectional views. The domes presented were designed for a variety of uses, including that of school, library, sports arena, gymnasium, church, hospitality (hotel/motel), detention facility, business center, planetarium, and residential home.
The sketches are preceded by nine introductory pages which describe the process of manufacturing a dome, general design guidelines and preliminary planning considerations (including interior partitioning and determining openings), thermal efficiency and environmental advantages, and also give a brief career overview of the architect, Frederick ''Rick'' Crandall.
According to the Monolithic Dome Institute website, as of 2019, Frederick Crandall has completed over 200 dome projects since 1995. He is currently based in Mesa, Arizona.
