A scarce copy of this juvenile mystery, which revolves around a young man who takes a summer job working at a swank Ozark resort and his investigation into a mysterious, coveted Cherokee rattle. A fast paced and adventurous novel with a diverse cast of characters, suffused with Ozark atmosphere and incorporating a bit of Arkansas history.
Lois Snelling (1893-1988) was a longtime resident of Benton County and the city of Rogers in northwest Arkansas. She was the author of three other juvenile mysteries, all of which are set in the Ozark region of Arkansas: Treasure in the Valley (1958), Strange Case at Willowood (1959), and The Yellow Cup Mystery (1963). She also wrote a biography of the populist presidential candidate and developer of the Arkansas resort community of Monte Ne, William Hope ''Coin'' Harvey.
