Kiki is an imaginative girl whose mother takes her to a ballet. She discovers that she loves the dancing and costumes and cannot wait to become a ballet dancer, and begins moving like a the dancers at every opportunity.
Charlotte Steiner (1898-1981) was a prolific author of children's books. She was born in Czechoslovakia and studied art in Prague, Vienna and Paris prior to her moving to the United States.
