A collection of poems by Joao Vicente Pimentel Maldonado (1773-1838), a Portuguese magistrate, writer, journalist, and participant in the gatherings of Nova Arcadia. He was also a liberal and a prominent Freemason and spent several years in prison and political exile. His Apologos received praise from the poets Almeida Garrett and Antonio Feliciano de Castilho.
