A biography of the American missionary Clara Eastham (Gray) Schauffler (1842-1883), who served with her husband Rev. Henry Albert Schauffler in the missionary field in Turkey, where he taught at Robert College in Constantinople (1862-1872), and then in Prague and Bohemian Austria (1872-1881). They returned to the United States in 1882 and settled in Cleveland where he was a missionary to the Czech population. Mrs. Schauffler was the daughter of James Harrison Gray, a leading physician and surgeon of Enflield and Springfield, Massachusetts.
