Poems by the Cannon Beach poet Irta Woodfield. Includes pieces reflecting on the natural environment of the northern Oregon coast and poems on various themes. The centerpiece is the four-page poem ''Wind-Waves-Trees-Rocks,'' which describes the history and character of Cannon Beach, which mentions Haystack Rock, the Needles, Indian Beach, Arch Cape, and the two cannons.
In the 1950s, Irta Luella (Page) Woodfield (1886-1967) lived in Tolovana Park/Cannon Beach, Oregon. She was the wife of the notable Astoria photographer Frank Woodfield and together they operated the Woodfield Photo Studio and Gift Shop at 583 Kensington Avenue in Astoria from about the mid-1910s through 1943, when they retired to Tolovana Park. They were still living at Tolovana when Frank died in 1955.
