Album features 42 Little Napoleon comics, each dated to 1924. Little Napoleon appeared in the pages of The New York World between 1923 and 1927.
According to Worthpoint, only two copies have sold on Ebay since 2006: a (presumed) complete copy in 2012 and a copy with missing pages in 2017. The copy at Ohio State University is part of the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum, part of the International Museum of Cartoon Art Collection which had been collected by Mort Walker.
Daniel Francis ''Bud'' Counihan (1887-1972) went on to be better known for his ''Betty Boop'' comic strip which appeared in the mid-1930s. His earlier work included the comic strips ''Henry Hasenpfeffer'' (1916-1917) and ''The Big Little Family'' (1917-1923). Then, after ''Little Napoleon,'' he made ''Pinhead Dooley'' (1928-1929) and assisted Chic Young on ''Dumb Dora'' (1929-1930) and the ''Blondie'' Sunday pages (1930-1934), and his final comic was ''Betty Boop'' (1934-1937).
