A history of the Oregon pioneer families who settled in and around Harrisburg, Halsey, Brownsville and Eugene, these being the ancestors of Joseph Davidson Morse (1912-2002) and his wife Marjorie Gertrude Price (1919-1998). The primary families covered are Bushnell, Davidson, McMurry, Morris, Morse, Murphy, and Price. The family story is supplemented with material giving historical context for the migrations.
Some of the family history goes back to before the Oregon Trail, particularly with the Morse family, whose journey in America is traced back to 1641. The first to come to Oregon were Fielding McMurry and his wife Harriet (1851) and John Ecles Murphy (1852).
