An extensive genealogy of Mikesell families in the United States. Originating in Austria and Germany, the family migrated to American around the 1720s, and settled in Pennsylvania (many in Northampton, Lancaster and Bucks counties), Maryland and Virginia. The Mikesells moved on to Illinois, Ohio (many in Preble County), Indiana and Missouri. They finally settled in Kansas, Utah, Washington and other western states.
The book is acompilation of family group sheets, memoirs, essays, biographies, poems, pictures, charts, records, maps, and pages from an early Mikesell Bible. There are short stories, letters, excerpts from journals, entries from autograph albums, and allied family information.
The book centers around the author's father-in-law, Christian Jesse Mikesell (Missouri 1874-Oregon 1959), his parents and grandparents, his siblings, descendants and six generations of ancestors.
