The author, Sajal Basu, at the time a young Socialist, was associated with the Research Center of Delhi and was the Assistant Editor of the Socialist Monitor, a socio-political monthly. The foreword was written by Shreedhar Mahadev Joshi (1904-1989), former Chairman of the Samyukta Socialist Party.
