Bookseller catalog ticket affixed to verso of ffep (showing a revised price of $3.00), along with some penciled notations; minor smudges on half-title, else interior is very clean. The first of Hans Christian Andersen's five travel books, originally published in 1831 in Copenhagen, in which he describes his travels in Germany in that same year. The volume concludes with a sixty-page biographical sketch of the Danish sculptor Albert Thorvaldsen.
