Description: Hardcover in cream-colored cloth with blue lettering on spine and front cover. Light wear on a few pages, else fine. Clean and unmarked. 118 illustrations, mostly from photographs, including frontispiece portrait of the elder author. xxii + 598 pages.

An rigorously researched genealogy on the Hannum/Hannam/Hanham family. The point of reference for this volume is William Hannum (abt 1613-1677), who sailed on the 'Mary and John' from Plymouth, England on 20 March 1630, landing on May 30th at what later became Dorchester, Massachusetts. William and his family settled at Northampton, Massachusetts. The first 79 pages are devoted to the Hannums of the West Country of England (i.e. Dorset and Somerset). Although the authors were certain that these families were inter-related, and laid a foundation for further research, they could not establish a linkage with certainty. Some speculation has been for an origin at Dorchester in Dorset.
