Some minor soiling to pages; old tape repair in bottom margin of one page. Business envelope (empty) affixed at rear. Introduction by Battalion Commander, Charles C. An illustrated account of the 5th Engineer Combat Battalion in World War II, 1944-1945, including action in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe campaigns. Black-and-white photographs throughout and color maps and the front of each chapter. Includes a list of medals awarded, portraits of all the officers (separate pages for the Battalion, 'S' Sections, Companies A, B & C, and the 'H & S' Company), and a full roster of the officers and enlisted men, noting their rank and last known address.

Original owner was battalion member, Technician fourth grade (T/4) Romeyn Francis Haszler (1918-1996) of Tonica, Illinois.
