A gorgeously illustrated volume, presenting nine Buddhist monasteries in the Thai forest tradition. Each monastery is described on one page and then presented in pictures on four to eight pages each. Included are Wat Pah Nanachat (Thailand), Cittaviveka Forest Monastery (Sussex), Aruna Ratanagiri Monastery (Northumberland), Hartridge Monastery (Devon), Amaravati Monastery (Hertfordshire), Bodhinyanarama Monastery (New Zealand), Dhammapala Monastery (Switzerland), Santacittarama Monastery (Italy), and Abhayagiri Monastery (California).

Published in 2014 to honor the occasion of the 80th birthday of Ajahn Sumedho (b. 1934), aka Luang Por Sumedho, an American Buddhist monk, monastery founder and abbot, and one of the foremost representatives in the west of the Thai Forest Tradition of Theravada Buddhism. A native of Seattle, he trained with Ajahn Chah in Thailand between 1967 and 1977, and then relocated to England to teach and establish monastic branches.
