Moderate general wear to spine and corners. Ex-libris of S. C. & S. Brandram on front pastdown in each volume. With a few very minor exceptions, pages clean. 12mo. 177 x 105 mm. 236, 244 pp.

A biographical account of Napoleon's life and military career. First published in French in 1812, its intentionally obscure authorship is attributed to Charles Doris, de Bourge. Though the work is in some regard considered apocryphal, the author was speculated to have been attached to Napoleon's personal service and to have been in daily contact with him.

The bookplate is presumed to have belonged to the London merchant Samuel Caldwell Brandram, Esq. (1782-1851) and his wife Sarah (Styan) Brandram (1783-1860). Brandram and his father were attached to the Worshipful Company of Wax Chandlers.
