A retelling of traditional Japanese ghost tales, known as kaidan, by James Seguin de Benneville (1867-1943). He was a graduate of Princeton ('88) and a chemist by profession. He did quite a bit of traveling and lived in Yokohama, Japan from about 1901 to 1917, when he returned to Philadelphia with his Japanese wife and their four children.
