A comprehensive list of all businesses and persons doing business (e.g. blacksmiths, barbers, breeders, general store proprietors, etc.) in Wisconsin in 1927. The first half of the volume is organized alphabetically by location and includes all cities, towns and villages. After a paragraph describing each location (typically giving the population, location and transportation connections, schools and churches, and whether it has telegraph/telephone connectivity), it lists the persons doing business therein and their type of business.
The second half of the volume is a classified list of all trades, professions and pursuits in the state (e.g. appraisers, apron manufacturers, aquariums, architects, etc.), arranged alphabetically by post office.
Polk issued these state-wide business directories every other year. Includes about 120 pages of advertising.
