As an educator her students included Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpine (founders of Joffrey Ballet), Ben Vereen, and Liza Minelli. Rachel Yocom (1916-2004) was chairwoman of the dance department at the High School of Performing Arts in New York City (the school depicted in the movie "Fame") from 1954-1972 and the school director from 1973-1975. Book is lightly worn at head and tail of spine as well as fore edge corners. A little yellowing to the top edge of the boards as well as the top edge and fore edge of the text block. Inscribed by both authors on the front paste-down. Pages are clean and binding is tight. Dust jacket is worn and chipped at upper and lower edges. Tail of dj spine is missing about 12mm of material. Dj is heavily yellowed, heavier at the top edge. Dj has been placed in an archival quality protective mylar cover. 7" x 10"
