A few discoloration spots on boards; one impacts gilt on front title in the word "Bertie." A few pages have tears at spine. Looks to have been a well-loved book for over a century and a half. Most of the pages have some fingerprint soiling at the fore edge; mostly at the lower corner. Name neatly written on verso of frontis. Another name in blue pencil in a child's hand on the rear fep. 3 Illustrations in book. No date given; the address for W.H. Broom moved to Pasternoster Square in the mid 1870's and by 1880 they had change their name to W.H. Broom and Rouse, so this would date this book to the mid 1870s. Rare children's title.
