A collection of editorials on global, national, and local affairs written by Lawrence "Larry" Hodges (1857-1938). He writes about the first World War, various global affairs, international treaties, domestic issues of economy, tariffs, taxes, monetary policy, agriculture and industry, the great depression, as well as some local issues. Hodges went to work for The Oregonian in September 1902 as an assistant editor and in 1911 joined the Editorial office and became known for his insightful analyses and commentary. He retired in July 1934. This volume was published a year prior to his death.
