Belonged to William Ambrose Haseltine, as a schoolboy, who graduated from Portland's Ladd School in June 1910 [He notes "Room 19 Ladd School" on the ffep]. He went on to become the proprietor of the J. E. Haseltine & Co. hardware business and in 1946 was elected to be the chairman of the Portland School Board.
