Minnie Miriam Rasmus (1874-1964) had been a music instructor in Portland, Oregon, teaching at the Western Academy of Music and Oratory during the first decade of the century. Her husband, William Morton Rasmus, served as its principal for eleven years. This book is inscribed by Minnie to the Goodnough family. Mordaunt A. Goodnough was concert pianist who also taught at the Western Academy. He had previously been a music instructor at Oregon Agricultural College.
