A John and Suzy Marshall Mystery. Johnny Marshall learns that his dentist's attractive redhead assistant is missing. The chase for the missing redhead leads to a swank cocktail party at a famous artist's, thence to the Las Vegas airport, to a shady movie producer's hide-out in Mexico, and back to L.A. to find the celebrated artist murdered, to a marijuana den in the slums, and finally on to a violent denouement in a freight yard.

James M. Fox (1908-1989), born Johannes Knipscheer, was a Dutch-American author of mystery fiction. Prior to the Second World War he worked as a commercial lawyer in Europe and New York and after the war settled in Los Angeles. In addition to his other works, he wrote about a dozen John and Suzy Marshall detective novels throughout the 1940s and 50s.
