The Claim Jumpers, a western romance, is the story of Bennington, a young man from New York and recent a college graduate, who is also an aspiring writer working on his first novel. This tenderfoot is sent out to the Bad Lands of the Dakotas to check on mining claims; he works on his novel along the way while developing a romance with a pretty and spirited girl. Out west, they find a share of adventure and danger.
Stewart Edward White (1873-1946) was an American writer and novelist. He was well known for his many books, articles, and short stories about his experiences in the mining and lumber camps and his many adventures in the outdoors.
